1 dozen Jumbo Pansy Quail hatching eggs. (we include a couple extra eggs when available)
Our Jumbo Pansy quail are both big bodied and lay big cream and brown speckled eggs. They are a powerhouse for the modern homestead. Laying at just 7 weeks old, these guys outlay our chickens with more than 300 eggs per hen per year!
Mostly, we just think they are gorgeous! What a great addition to any homesteader’s quail covey. Just like all of our quail, the Jumbo Pansy are a variety of Coturnix Quail, so they can happily live with the Blue Ridge Jumbos and Celadons!
We pack all our hatching eggs in specially made foam egg shippers to ensure safe arrival and protect the egg’s air-cell as much as possible during shipping. All eggs are shipped 1-3 day priority mail, and held at your local post office for pickup, to minimize time in the delivery vehicles. We ship only the freshest eggs to you for maximum viability, eggs are shipped the same day they are laid. We include a hatching guide with every egg order.Shipping is $25.00 flat-rate for a box that holds up to 2 dozen quail eggs

***HATCHING EGG DISCLAIMER:
Eggs are a gamble. There is no guarantee of hatchability when you purchase fertile eggs through the mail or in person. Even the freshest eggs, under ideal conditions, don’t always develop and hatch. I usually see a 75-80% hatch rate at our farm, which I am happy with. With shipped eggs, I consider 50% an excellent hatch rate. Shipping the eggs can greatly reduce hatchability. I have had shipped eggs hatch out 100% and some none at all. That is simply the risk of hatching eggs, especially shipped eggs.
Remember, lack of any development (showing clear when candled) does NOT equal infertility. Many factors can cause a fresh, fertile egg to become inviable and fail to develop.
I sell the exact same eggs to you that I put in my own incubator every week, so am constantly tracking fertility. I only sell eggs from flocks with proven excellent fertility. I do my best to package your eggs carefully and send extras when available, and I have had Very good experience with shipping eggs via the USPO. However, I have no control over the eggs once they leave the farm. I cannot control the conditions of the eggs once in the possession of the postal service, such as temperature fluctuations, handling practices of the boxes, air pressure changes (when shipped via plane), x-raying, etc. I also have no control over your individual incubator, broody hen, or incubation techniques.
Please know that you bear all the risk and responsibility when buying hatching eggs.
No guarantees are offered
EASY TO CARE FOR
Quail need a slightly different setup than chickens; they do really well in little “quail-tractors” or a rabbit-hutch style house. They do not roost, but rather, like to have a small shelter on the ground to sleep and lay their eggs in. They are amazingly cold hardy and lay more than our chickens! During the laying season they lay 1 egg nearly every day, and will lay 300+ eggs per year if given supplemental lighting in the winter.

QUAIL EGGS ARE A SUPERFOOD
Their eggs are tiny and PACKED with nutrients. They are a great low-calorie, protein-rich food. They are creamy and delicious, and cannot carry salmonella, so can safely be eaten raw. The health benefits of quail eggs include their ability to improve vision and immunity, boost energy levels, reduce inflammation, and stimulate growth and repair in the body. Quail eggs also help to boost metabolism, reduce blood pressure, and soothe allergies, among others!
PERFECT FOR THE HOMESTEAD
Who doesn’t need a few quail in their life?! They are tiny little packages that pack a nutritional punch! The males’ crow is a soft trill, like a song-bird, and so, many urban families who cannot have roosters, opt for a few backyard quail. We think you will love their sweet, quirky little personalities as much as we have!
