UPDATE FROM SADIE-GIRL FARM!

As some of you know, our farm and home are located in Swannanoa, NC which was hit HARD by Hurricane Helene and we have massive damage both on our farm and in our town.

We have been without access to power, water, food, and fuel and were cut off for a time from any outside access at all. Cell service is very spotty and everything in our town is under water or washed away.  We are currently in survival mode, but hope to be back on track by next month (November).

Luckily our house was unharmed but we have big trees down, one on the quail barn, but minimal losses all considering. We lost everything in our incubators after running out of fuel for our generator.

Thank you for your patience.  We will notify folks when we can ship again… right now our post office was under water and is inoperable.  Once we can once again begin shipping, we will prioritize existing orders that need to go out, and then possibly begin taking new orders later this fall.

Once again, we thank you for the kind words of encouragement, and to so many who have been checking in on us.  We are safe.  But right now it is about meeting basic needs.

Sadie-Girl Farm is an NPIP certified breeder (NPIP# 55-1588) and we are able to ship both chicks and eggs anywhere in the continental U.S.  Please check out all of our breeds and colors being offered this year, in the “Our Breeds” section.

We are honored to provide our customers with those Specialty Breeds that are so sought after, while maintaining as natural and healthy of an environment for our chickens and quail as possible.  As breeders, we believe in small-scale farming.  We believe that all poultry deserve to live a quality, happy, and stress-free life, where they can act out their full “chicken-ness” and “quailness” :-).  We believe in breeding for natural hardiness and resistance to disease and illness, rather than medicating and vaccinating our chicks.  We believe all of our poultry are pets first, therefore they are all respected, loved, spoiled rotten, and known as individuals.

We have been featured on the “Homesteads and Homeschools” Podcast.  Check out that fun interview here!
